Five Practical Steps In Caring For Your Dry Skin

You will know that you have dry skin if you feel that your face is taut, it's as if the size of your face is bigger than the skin you are in. Itchiness, redness, flaking and even scales on your eyebrows are all indications that your skin is dehydrated or simply dry. This condition, which also contributes to the development of premature wrinkles, needs special attention. Merely cleansing with ordinary soap and water will not improve your complexion and get rid of the nasty signs of dryness.

Dryness can sometimes be genetic. If your parents and siblings have dry skin, you may also have this problem. However, there are also other factors that make a person's skin dry " certain illnesses or conditions, dehydration, nutritional deficiencies, and even the environment. If you think that you are already predisposed to dryness, then it would be wise to make sure that you are not exposed to the abovementioned factors so as not to make your condition much worse that it is now.

Here are some steps that you need to follow in taking care of your dry skin:

Step 1. Moisturize From Within

Water and oil are two things that a person with dry skin is lacking. The first thing you need to do in order to improve your complexion is to drink plenty of water. You see, the body uses water not only for purposes of digestion, but also for helping in cell restoration. So for better skin, make sure that you drink more than 64 ounces of water daily. And if the weather is hot or you are sweating a lot because of exercise or other activities, you need to drink a couple of glasses more.

Step 2. Protect Yourself From Extreme Weather Conditions

Of all the skin types, yours is the one that suffers the most during extreme weather changes. Exposure to the sun, winter chill and even central heating or air conditioning systems can actually make your skin more dehydrated and irritated. Always remember to wear protective covering, such as a hat, sunglasses and visors when you are going out; also applying sunscreen, even when its winter, is a wise idea.

Step 3. Don't Be Harsh

Cleaning with detergents, toners and harsh soaps can strip your face of moisture. It is important that you use gentle fragrance-free cleansers that are specifically created for your specific skin type. It may be wise to stay away from products with cleansing beads or harsh ingredients because they can irritate your skin even more.

You should also pay attention to the type of makeup removers you use. Look for products that have oils and moisturizers and no alcohol or its derivatives. A cream cleanser that melts away dirt or makeup and can be removed by patting tissue on the face is more appropriate for you because it helps lock in the moisture.

Step 4. Don't Ever Forget To Moisturize

People with parched skin, like yours, absolutely have no reason to skip applying moisturizer. In fact, you need to apply this product on your face and neck not only once but several times a day, depending on the weather.

Choose a moisturizer that is thick or creamy, rather than the liquid or lotion type, because it contains more oil and water. Moreover, choose a product that has humectant, an ingredient that seals in moisture more effectively.

Step 5. Mist Away

Many people with dry skin are advised to stop washing their face with water. In fact, cleansers that can be wiped off with tissue are the best option for ensuring that you are not stripping away moisture unnecessarily. If you miss the feel of water on your face, you can also spray your face with a fine mist of plain water, flower water or water with a few drops of essential oils anytime you like.

Follow these steps and you will see an improvement in your face within days. However, if there are wrinkles and fine lines forming around your eyes, forehead and cheeks, you need to use products like Dermaxin which can help fight the signs of premature aging. Wax Beauty Care - Not Just For Women

One of the fads in beauty care in past years has been that of hair removal. It seems as if hair is undeniably out and everyone wants a smooth, hairless body. In fact, the human body is almost completely covered with hair, with the exception of the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. This makes for a lucrative business for those who are licensed for hair removal. Although there is more than one hair removal method to choose from, wax beauty care has long been one of the most common methods of removing hair. And women are not the only ones buying into this American beauty skin care removal craze. Men are also among frequent customers, getting their backs, chests and other areas hair-free with hair waxing.

Waxing has long been a favorite procedure of those seeking to be smooth. Waxing requires hot wax to be poured on the area and then extricated by having strips stuck on and pulled off along with unwanted hair. Although this method is often painful, it is cost effective and can last a while, which keeps many customers coming back for more American beauty skin care. Another selling point for some is that waxing can be done by professionals in a salon or can be done in your own home with one of many self-waxing kits sold in stores. For people not wanting to spend a lot of money or have the process done in a public salon, home waxing can seem appealing.

There are a number of spots on the human body that people choose for wax beauty care. Women have made waxing extremely popular for their legs and bikini areas, particularly during summer months. Since waxing keeps areas hair free longer than shaving and often prevents the area from becoming irritated with small red bumps like shaving sometimes does, waxing has grown more and more popular. However, while shaving can be done to smooth areas with even the shortest stubble of hair sprouting up, to wax an area you must wait until a certain length of hair has grown in so the wax has a substantial quantity of hair to grip onto and pull out. Another benefit of waxing is that the treatment makes hair grow back finer each time. That means that each time the hair grows back after waxing it will be thinner and easier to remove.

Since bikini waxing has become so trendy in recent years, there have been a number of different bikini waxes designed depending on how much hair a woman wants removed. This allows women to have a quantity of choices when it comes to bikini waxes. Most of the time, the person working in the salon where you get your bikini wax will be able to help you if you are unsure about what type of wax you are seeking. However, many women have an idea in mind when they schedule their waxing appointment. Standard bikini waxes remove the hair around the bikini line, making more appealing to wear a bathing suit. This is perhaps the most popular bikini wax. However, the waxing does not stop there. A full bikini wax eradicates all pubic hair except for a strip, while a Brazilian bikini wax takes off all hair in the bikini area. The names of the waxes can vary from salon to salon but these are typically the types of waxes offered.

Wax beauty care, particularly bikini waxing, is done in a private space of the salon, so do not worry about others viewing your wax. Your position during a bikini wax is considerably similar to your position during a gynecological exam. If you are having a full or Brazilian wax you may find that it is necessary for you to get into different positions for the person doing the waxing to reach all areas of hair. But since salon employees who administer bikini waxes likely do numerous waxes each day, they are used to the process and you should not feel embarrassed. Results of bikini waxing typically last anywhere from ten to twenty days, then you will likely be ready for another American beauty skin care appointment. And keep in mind that since the hair must be a certain length in order to be eliminated with waxing, you will have to go at least a few days with a considerable amount of stubble.

Can Facial Exercises Save The Skin On Your Face?

You may have heard of facial exercises or perhaps you are doing one right now. These exercises are designed to zero in on the muscles on your face. The routines may include squeezing the lips for several seconds, raising eyebrows for a prolonged period, flexing the cheeks and opening and closing the eyelids intermittently.

Facial exercises are supposed to help you keep a firm skin on your face and avoid unwanted lines and sagging folds. Many people, women especially, are crazy about these facial exertions. In fact, some women go to the extent of ordering instructional videos just to learn the routines; that is in addition to the overflowing information about this subject on the Internet and various women's magazines.

Creators and believers swear by the effects of facial exercises in making the face look more beautiful and younger looking. Practitioners say that the concept is the same as doing grueling numbers of sit-ups and other abs workout to produce that chiseled and gorgeous tummy area; hence, if you want a better looking face, you better start doing workouts on your face area.

Skin experts, however, disagree. When asked if facial exercises really work, most dermatologists say that twitching and flexing all the vital areas on your face is not effective in toning the skin on your face nor is it forceful enough to eliminate wrinkles and unwanted creases. Unlike fat on your abs, where cutting back on food and doing sit-ups can be enough to tone the muscles in that area, skin problems on your face are more than just a muscular trouble.

To really know what will work on your face, you need to take a closer look at why all the spots and lines on your face exist. The following are the main factors that bring about all the spots and lines on your face. Failing to take them into consideration will turn your dream of attaining a more beautiful skin on your face into a big frustration. So here they are and pay attention.

Sun Exposure

The sun's rays can melt a lot of things. If you do not believe this, try exposing a bar of butter under the sun and in minutes it will all be liquefied. The same thing happens to your face when you over expose it to sunlight. Not that your face will literally melt; but moisturizing substances in your skin will be depleted. The next thing you know, you have broken down skin cells which will be visible in the form of wrinkles, age spots, and dark circles under your eyes.

Drop In Collagen Levels

Basically, the problems you are having on your face come as a direct result of losing your skin's elasticity. Aside from sunlight, age has a hand in making your skin lose its firmness too. But at the bottom of your skin's loss of elasticity is the dwindling level of collagen in your skin. If you want to fix your facial and other skin problems, you need to increase your collagen.

Facial Contortion

Believe it or not, the way you contort your face when you express your ideas or sentiments can cause wrinkles, fine creases and sagging on your face. If you tend to frown most of the time, expect that the skin in the middle of your brow line will have one or two deep ridges. If you have to squint your eyes every time you have to focus on something, then chances are you have lines that resemble crow's feet on the side of your eyes.

These three factors bring you everything that you hate on your face. And all the facial exercises that you do will not help you solve your problems because your workout just doesn't deal with these factors. So instead of facial exercises, doctors say, you should apply products that are especially formulated to fight off unwanted lines and sagging skin on your face. For your eyes, you can try eye creams like Eyederma to eliminate eye bags and dark circles. Visit www.eyederma.com for more details.

MAKE UP RULES FOR WOMEN 40 YRS PLUS

As we enter mid-life, make up is an important part of our beauty and grooming regime. However, several make up rules for women 40 yrs plus are vital if we are to successfully take years off our age and appear brighter and smarter.

1. Ignore much of the beauty features and articles in the media for women in their early twenties and thirties. Generally, fewer tricks that work on younger skin will often have the adverse effect on skin that is older. For example, heavy colouring will more than likely look over done and using white pencils will show.

2. It doesn't matter how clever you are in applying your make-up, it will not look its best unless you go through the important steps of priming your skin underneath. Cleansing and moisturizing prepares the skin as an artist prepares his paper before adding the paint.

3. Avoid the use of heavy matt make-up. These products cake in and around lines and accentuate signs of ageing. If your skin tends to shine, there are many foundations etc that promote 'shine-free'.

4. Avoid using liquid eyeliners as they cake on the less firmer skin. Instead use smokey kohl pencil to line upper lid and blend into the delicate skin.

5. Always remember the saying - Less Is More. You want your make-up to enhance your natural beauty - to look pretty, but also natural. Too much makeup adds years instantly

6. It is important to always remove your make-up. Make-up left on while you sleep is very damaging and ageing for the skin. Remove eye make up carefully without pulling the skin, and a moisturizing cleanser is best for women 40 yrs plus.

7. Finally, after removing your make-up, follow up with a good moisturizer and eye cream. Maintain softness and suppleness of the skin with products that you enjoy and that work for you.

The above make up rules for women 40 yrs plus will enhance your natural beauty and assist in continuing to having you look years younger.

When you work in a medical facility, clean room area, or other types of secure and sanitary environments, you understand the necessity for having protective gear that acts as a direct barrier between you and your environment. This often means wearing bouffant hair covers and/or face masks to insure you keep you and your environment separate. These are going to wrap carefully and comfortably around the ears, and there are plenty of layers to filter things going out as well as going in. These are full face which means you get your nose and mouth protected with this 3 layer system of sanitation. You choose the size, you choose the quantity, and you choose the color.

2008 Fashion and Bead Jewelry Trends

It's a new year and it's time to start looking at the upcoming 2008 Spring and Summer Jewelry trends! The ever changing business of bead jewelry and fashion trends isn't always easy to predict, but I've been reading a lot of fashion magazines, listening to my customers keeping an eye out for what sort of jewelry has been selling and what hasn't been. Based on these observations and my own inner fashion diva, here's what will be hot in beads and jewelry in 2008:

Natural Colors: There is lots of emphasis on "natural" colors and materials such as wood or stone beads use in jewelry. Along with this natural feel are a lot of organic and botanical looking beads and pendants as well. If it is even slightly reminiscent of nature it seems to be popular in most jewelry and bead circles right now.

Bold and Big: Large stones, gemstones and beads are still in, though they're becoming a little less "over the top" and little more natural in size and pleasing to the eye. In 2008 bead jewelry pieces will still be expected to make a bold statement and not just lie on the neck or wrist. The "chunky" jewelry is still popular and I'm noticing that a lot of people like the rough cut or asymmetrical stones and beads.

Pendants, Charms and Single Stones: Single large stones that hang in a pendant configuration are popular. Lots of celebrities and media women are wearing bright and somewhat larger charm bracelets and even necklaces than they were in the past.

Colors!: Yes, I'm talking about color again! Natural is good, but also remember to be bright and bold! Bright colors from the 1980's are out. Think more along the lines of the brightest colors you might see in a sunset or seascape. The color yellow is still popular, but I've seen it used more as an accent color in a lot of jewelry pieces and beads rather than the main event. These bright colors are being seen in bead jewelry and clothing fashions together. Many of these bright colors are "warmer" to go along with the natural feel!

Metals: Yes, natural and chunky are in, but there is still room for metals in beaded jewelry, especially when it is sleek and modern looking or even mixed with natural materials like wood and stone beads. There are always people who like the more "modern" beads and jewelry as opposed to the more traditional bead jewelry designs. You can buy modern beads for jewelry making or you can go for a more unique look and actually make bead jewelry out of hardware washers!

Shiny Stuff: Silver and Gold: Silver is still hot, but gold is making a comeback. The two metals are being seen mixed together in more and more pieces and more and more unique ways. I've seen a lot of charms, pendants and larger jewelry beads designed with a gemstone, gold and silver all in one piece.

I would describe the perfect bead jewelry necklace for 2008 to be comprised of bright, colorful oversized beads that invoked nature in either their shape or color and the whole piece would be be brought together with a tasteful silver and gold gemstone pendant hanging off the neck to bring it all together.

I hope you have a great 2008 and you're able to find or make some wonderfully fashionable and trend-setting bead jewelry for yourself!

Six Commandments On Maintaining Beautiful Youthful Skin

Cosmetic surgery is actually not the only way to achieve a healthy and supple skin when you reach the age of 60. Although the skin tends to be drier and less flexible as you grow older, it does not mean that you cannot do something in order to prevent your skin from sagging, wrinkling and drying up. It is also important to note that starting to adopt a beauty regimen as early as 20 years old is crucial in maintaining a luscious and younger looking skin.

However, if you are already experiencing signs of skin aging, which include dryness, fine lines, and discoloration, you do not have to panic and head straight to a plastic surgeon. You can still postpone or even reverse the damages caused by skin aging just by following the six commandments that lead to younger looking skin.

Increase Your Intake Of Water

You may have heard from countless doctors that water is important in maintaining a healthy digestive system. Although it is true that water is essential in ensuring the proper functioning of your systems, especially in the elimination of toxins and waste products, another good reason why you need to increase your H2O intake is that it moisturizes your skin from within.

Some say that drinking eight glasses of water is enough. However, if you have a dry skin, it won't hurt to gulp down a lot more than that. By the way, coffee and other beverages with caffeine are diuretics, which makes you urinate more often, so it can deplete fluids in your body. Try limiting caffeine-rich drinks to just one or two cups a day.

Ditch Unhealthy Habits

Smoking and drinking alcohol are two of the unhealthiest habits that young people like to indulge in. If you are already in your 40s, the effects of smoking and alcohol will start to show on your skin. More often than not people who smoke and drink alcohol a lot have sallow, discolored and lifeless skin. Thus, if you are still dreaming of restoring your youthful glow, you better ditch your nasty habits. Besides, cigarette smoking and excessive alcohol consumption are bad not only for your skin, but for your whole body as well.

Protect Your Skin From The Sun Everyday

No matter what the season is, you should never forget to wear sunscreen if you are planning to go outdoors in the morning. Even if the weather is downcast, the sun's harmful rays still pierce the atmosphere. It would also be a wise idea to wear sunscreen if you know that you will be exposed to strong and harsh artificial lights, such as those that are used in television shoots and laboratories.

Increase Fruits And Vegetables In Your Diet

Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and antioxidants that are vital in fixing skin damages on a cellular level. Thus, if you want to reverse the havoc on your skin brought about by aging and your unhealthy habits, you should increase your intake of fruits and vegetables to at least nine servings a day.

Do Not Totally Eliminate Fats

People who are dieting are afraid of consuming fats because they think these are bad for their health and weight. Actually, not all fats are bad and should be totally removed in your everyday meals. Fish, virgin olive, coconut and other vegetable oils are actually helpful not only in retaining skin moisture, but also in lowering bad cholesterol levels and maintaining proper brain functions.

Use Moisturizers And Other Anti-Aging Products

As soon as you reach 30-40, you should already start using anti-aging creams and moisturizers because your body's ability to retain moisture and restore the radiance and suppleness of your skin is starting to get a little bit rusty. Just make sure that the products you put on your face are of high quality and made from ingredients that are all safe. One anti-aging cream that you can use is Rejuvinol. Visit www.Rejuvinol.com for more information about this product.

Never Let Up On Nurturing Your Beauty

Being beautiful or simply improving your appearance is always meant to be a fulltime commitment. Sure, a trip to your favorite salon or spa can make you feel good about yourself for a day or two, but what happens after that? Not only will you feel betrayed, your pockets will feel empty as well.

If you want to be beautiful, you need to get into the habit of nurturing beauty. It may not be an easy task, but the rewards are well worth your efforts. So why not give the following steps a try?

Accept And Enjoy Yourself

The very first step in improving or nurturing one's beauty is the ability to appreciate oneself. If you can not accept the fantastic person that you are, then nobody will. If you can not stand the way that you are, then you will suffer from low self-esteem.

People who can appreciate and feel good about themselves have confidence. And when it comes to beauty, self confidence is everything. In short, persuade yourself first that you are beautiful before other people will have the same perception about you.

Be Happy, Remember To Laugh

Nobody likes Mr. Scrooge or the Grinch! People avoid those who are angry and ill-tempered. But everyone is drawn to someone who is happy. Believe it or not, taking on a happy mindset can make you look beautiful for other people.

Your laughter and smiles can act like magnets that can attract anyone. But on top of this, a positive mental attitude allows your body to loosen up and produce certain chemicals that can improve your health and even delay the effects of aging.

Always Choose To Be Fit

Your overall health and fitness definitely have a say about your appearance. Have you seen a person admiring someone who is obese or anorexic? No. But someone with disproportioned nose or irregularly shaped face can look attractive if he has well-defined muscle tone and high levels of energy. It may sound ironic but a big part of nurturing an attractive appearance begins from within you rather than your exterior; which can only mean your health condition or your vim and vigor.

Avoid Or Quit Smoking

Everybody knows that smoking is dangerous to one's health. You can even see the warning sign printed right on cigarette packs. But some people, it seems, have learned to ignore the things that doctors say about the ill-effects of smoking. Well, if you do not believe that smoking can drastically shorten your life expectancy, at least you should listen to your doctor when she says smoking can make you look old and unattractive.

If you have been smoking for years, there is a good chance that you have prematurely experienced having wrinkles on your face, stained teeth, dark lips and dull overall skin color. You see, the nicotine contained in cigarettes tightens blood vessels; when this happens, oxygen and other important nutrients are taken away from your skin. Certain substances found in tobacco can also lead to the malfunction of collagen production in your skin.

Drink Lots Of Water Everyday

Water is one of the most important substances needed by all living things. It is also one of the key requirements in nurturing one's beauty. Water can help a lot in getting you back in shape; as drinking water can make you feel full, you can effectively cut your appetite with it.

As for your skin, water can help you maintain a soft youthful skin as it keeps your skin hydrated. It is also responsible for flushing out the toxins in your body which, if left to accumulate, can seriously damage your skin. Drink at least eight glasses of water everyday, and you will see how radiant your skin will become.

Take Care Of Your Skin

After you have ensured your beauty from within, you also have to support your external appearance, particularly your skin. Due to the demands and challenges of the times, many environmental factors can actually ruin the condition of your skin and make you look old and ugly. For this, you can use reputable skin care products to repair your damaged skin.

Also, there are stages in your life that can take their toll on the quality of your skin. For instance, pregnant women and rapidly growing boys and girls may find stretch marks in some areas of their skin. While these skin appearances are not harmful, they can definitely be annoying, especially for young people. Luckily, there are products like Strevaxl which have been specially developed to reduce or eliminate stretch marks. Click on www.strevaxl.com to learn more about having flawless skin.

o You Know As A Women, Your Beauty and Life is at the Risk of Depression!

It has been proved that women are more vulnerable to certain diseases then men. Smoking is an example. Though smoking as such is not a disease yet women are much more susceptible to the harms of smoking than men are. On similar lines it has been proved recently that women are more prone to the dangerous mental disorder depression.

Going by the current scheme of things it can be safely said that today there are very few people who are spared from the blows of depression. Today even children have started becoming prey to depression. At large all human beings experience depression or for that matter any other mental disorder at least once in their lives. But in case of the women it is seen that the fair sex is unusually a favorite of depression.

Women as such lead a very complex pattern of life. By saying that the lives of women are complex, I don't mean to say that men have the privilege of leading a straight and tension free life. What I actually mean is that women have to go through certain conditions in their lives particularly physical that make them easy prey to depression.

Women have to go through various physical changes in their lives that sometimes take a heavy toll on their psyches. The first important physical change in the life of a woman comes in the form of puberty. Along with the physical changes that accompany the coming of the senses, she also goes through a lot of mental complications. Again at the time of child birth, a woman goes through a number of physical as well as mental changes. There are a number of depressions that might come in the life of a woman while she is due to give birth. During pregnancy and even after giving birth she goes through depressing phases.

Apart from the physical changes a woman also has to face a number of social and familial obligations, sometimes much more than a man. She is much more responsible for housekeeping and child raising than a man is. Therefore it is only expected that while conforming to these multi faceted roles she breaks down and becomes prey to the vice of depression.

As a result women fall much more easily to depression and in a large degree than men. Many of these depression cases are instances of clinical depression. Anti depressant Xanax is a drug that is known to have a good effect on cases of clinical depression. However, being a prescribed drug it cannot be administered to women who are either pregnant or are nursing mothers. As depression drugs are easily available with the online pharmacies, people buy xanax online, sometimes by providing fake information and take the drug without getting a prescription. Nothing can be more dangerous than this as unwarranted use of xanax online can land a person into Xanax side effects. Thus irrespective of the fact whether you are a woman or a man, you should not opt for Xanax, or for that matter any other anti depressant, without prescription!

The writer dwells on issues relating to anxiety, depression, stress, anti-anxiety treatments such as xanax and other issues associated with mental health. For more tidbits on these matters, visit the website xanax-effects.com

Make Thinning Hair Look Thicker: Three Tips To Improve Bad Hair Days

Your hair has been getting thinner for a while. When you look in the mirror, you are appalled. What's with all that scalp shining through?

Maybe you're just fed up with it and wish it would look thicker. Maybe you're actively doing something that may help your hair grow back, or at least make it stop falling out so much. And you're optimistic. But why does it have to take so long until you see a noticeable difference?

Here are a few things you can do to make your hair at least look thicker while you wait. They're easy and quick so you can have thicker hair tonight. And the best thing: none of them involve expensive or otherwise drastic measures.

Tip 1: Use Color. This technique is especially effective if your hair is graying. In that case, color will make your hair look much thicker instantly. But color can also help if you're just changing your shade a little, and even if you pick a perfect match for your natural color. That's because hair color actually thickens each individual hair just a tiny bit, and the overall effect is very helpful.

Tip 2: Use Thickening Shampoos. Thickening shampoos, also known as voluming shampoos, really make a difference. There are a number of them on the market. I'm avoiding anything with sodium lauryl sulfate these days, so I'm buying mine at the health food store. Before I went off that chemical, I used to use one with a really embarrassing name by Catwalk. Excellent stuff.

Tip 3: Dry shampoos. I discovered this little trick by accident. Originally I bought it because I thought I might find it handy after hitting the snooze button too many times. But when I combed my hair after the first time I tried it, I could hardly believe my eyes. My hair looked a LOT thicker. It felt that way too! Now this may not be ideal for everyday use, and it's surprisingly expensive, but who am I to tell you what to do. Besides, it thickens up clean hair quite nicely too...

Meanwhile, I have tried two of the dry shampoos, one great, and the other quite serviceable but with far too much perfume for my taste. The price difference is substantial though that I have bought a second bottle of the overly perfumed kind.

Just in case you want to know: the fancy shampoo is Naturia by Rene Furterer ($22 for 3.2 oz. on Ebay), and the other, heavily perfumed one is just plain "dry shampoo" by Batiste ($6.99 at Sally's). Both come in environmentally problematic spray bottles, and you should probably also know that the 3 to 5 ounces of stuff is only enough for maybe half a dozen or so applications, depending on how much of it you use each time.

So there you have it. Three easy tricks to make your hair look thicker. You can use one, two, or even all three. Meanwhile, I think I'll investigate some more brands for a follow-up dry shampoo review.

While thinning hair really benefits greatly from hair coloring since it'll look much thicker afterwards, it simply doesn't take as much color to do the job as it does for thicker hair. And yet, it's all the more important to do frequent root touch-ups, where there's even more waste. Or is there?

After finding myself annoyed repeatedly, I started experimenting. Here's the solution I came up with that helps me avoid all that waste and save some money to boot:

For starters, I save now don't throw out the mixing or applicator bottles once I'm done, but I save it. I clean it, and then reuse it to mix the hair color in smaller batches the next time around.

For the brand I use, the two ingredients are conveniently added in equal proportions. So it's really easy to use just half the amount in the package. And that's how much I need when I do my entire head of hair.

For touch-up jobs, you'll be able to use even smaller amounts, so one bottle will be good for one full round of hair coloring as well as 2-3 minor touch-ups. During those touch-ups, you'll mostly put color on the roots and then, a few minutes before the end of the processing time, just distribute the color mix all over the rest of your hair to keep the colors even. You won't really need much color to do that. For the first few times, it will take some experimentation to see just how much or how little color you will need, but it will be worth it. And the money you'll save with this technique: you do the math.

Here is a second trick: If you're planning to get a haircut in the foreseeable future, it's a good idea to get your hair cut before you color your hair. You will need less color.

And last but not least: Are you getting annoyed at getting color splotches all over your towels?

I have figured out a solution for that one too:

I use several sheets of paper towel and pin them to the edge of the shower curtain with clothes pins. Then, when I rinse the color out of the hair and have my eyes squeezed shut for fear of getting any color in them, I can just blindly grab one of those paper towels and dry my eyes.

And if I notice any color on the paper towels after I do that, I know I will need to rinse some more. Meanwhile, my towels stay clean.

Savings: your towels last a lot longer. How much that will mean in actual money savings depends on your tolerance for ratty-looking towels and/or the price of your towels.

So between getting 2-3 extra color treatments out of any one bottle on the one hand and no longer ruining your towels on the other, you may well save enough to pay for some of your haircuts. And, by the way, if and when your hair gets thicker again, you can still use those tricks and still save almost as much.

Fashion Forward, Fashion Backward

Think of what is in right now in fashion? Take a look on some latest trends and compare it with the previous years. This year 2007, fashion is more like re-creating clothes that are inspired by our past generations.

Body Being trendy means to be updated whether in what clothes, jewelries or accessories that you wear. What is "in" today doesn't mean that it is "out" tomorrow. There are a lot of styles that has been evolved and modified. Are we stepping forward? Or are we just moving backward?

If you are familiar with crop jackets, belted dresses and bell-shaped dresses and coats these were a trend during Retro period from 1930s and 1940s. Leggings inspired in 1980s are not that popular today but those bare legs are now in demand. Hipster pants was replaced with high waistlines, accented with big bold belts is a good combination. While those skinny jeans (jeans never fade as they say) and trousers went back in style. We've seen some over-sized square bags hanging off the shoulder for some women. Wedges, platforms and those ballet flats are still remain a hot item. Hot colors include blue, yellow, and some bright colors like green, fuchsias and neon colors, and black is always a trendy color. These are just few examples and there are a lot of styles that has set a new trend today.

Keeping you updated with the style doesn't mean you have to buy those expensive clothes on malls wherein you can also visit online shopping websites like Style Runway (caters a great selection of clothing and accessories available for sale) if you are busy with work and don't have much time going out. Or you can personalize and style your own outfits. Open your closet and sort those clothes you rarely wear and customized those into new ones. If these clothes no longer fits - you can throw it away or give it to your little sisters or hold a garage sale in your area and make some little money out of it.

Just be creative and list down the ideas you saw in magazines, ads or take photos on the clothes displayed on Malls. You can also get discount coupons to save money on purchasing the items you want to buy. Style Runway offers a great discount this Christmas season, check it out and see how much you will save! Appreciate the quality of the products and make sure it will last for a longer period of time. Buy something that really fits you, or else it will only end up staying inside your closet - unused. Find items that are suitable to your need. Avoid buying luxury and expensive items that will only waste your money. And be practical in choosing your clothes.

It doesn't matter what you will wear or what brand you like. It's more about how you are going to carry it and don't think you will only follow the latest trend but how you are comfortable with the clothes you will wear. Sometimes people think that every style is a one new-unique creation. Fashion is like music that keeps on reviving. And these trends never gone but has been evolved. All we need is to mix-and-match and we will discover what do we really want and which style suits you.

Secrets To Looking And Feeling Young

Don't lose sleep over your age and about getting older. Age is nothing but a bunch of numbers added together, while getting old is just all in the mind. The only reason why you need to remember your age is when you need to fill up government or medical forms. Otherwise, you can forget about it and live a happy and active life.

Here are some secrets to looking and feeling younger and happier:

Always Be Positive

People who have a positive disposition in life are usually the happy ones because they are not easily stressed or depressed by small problems and obstacles in life. Furthermore, optimism brings vitality and zest. On the other hand, people who are negative, nihilistic or fatalistic do not have the will to succeed and aspire for happiness. Lastly, individuals who are positive thinkers are often charismatic and have magnetic personalities so they end up having many friends and companions.

Sleep Well

Lack of sleep can give you puffy eyes and dark circles that make you look haggard, tired and way older than your real age. Furthermore, sleep deprivation can make you feel sluggish, confused and sometimes even forgetful.

In order for your mind and body to function properly throughout the day, you need to sleep at least eight hours every night. Your body restores and repairs itself during sleep, while your mind processes and organizes your memory.

Add Color To Your Diet

Leafy greens, orange produce, red fruits and other colorful vegetables and fruits are all necessary to keep your body healthy, your mind active, and your skin beautiful. All the vitamins and minerals that your body needs to perform at its peak can be found in most vegetables and fruits that are available in the market. Many women have noticed that eating such health-giving foods brings a rosy glow in the cheeks and helps clear skin from pimples and other blemishes.

Be Fashion Savvy

You don't have to wear designer brand or ultra-expensive clothes to be a fashion diva. All you need to do is to update your wardrobe with new accessories and few pieces that will help make your fashion up to date. A lot of maturing women in the US are fond of sticking to the 80s or 70s look, which is just another way of revealing their real age. However, you should also not overdo your fashion change and start wearing teen fashion. Dress appropriately so that you will not be judged as someone who is desperate in looking young.

Rest And Relax

It is perfectly all right to splurge a little for a massage, a body scrub or a visit to a spa or derma clinic. You deserve a break once in a while to help calm your mind and cope with stressful work at home and at the office. Furthermore, a little pampering can make you feel good about yourself, which is crucial in helping you feel and look forever young.

Lock In The Moisture

As a person gets older, his or her skin starts to dry up and wrinkle. One remedy to this problem is to moisturize. You should drink plenty of water, at least eight glasses everyday, in order to moisturize your skin from within. While lotions, moisturizers, and oils can all moisturize your skin from the outside.

Use Anti-aging Products

Some people have genes that make them look young even if they do not apply or use anything to stop or delay the aging process. But if you are not one of these people, you need all the help you can get to make your skin look younger without surgery and other invasive treatments. Be sure to apply a good anti-aging product on your face and neck to prevent premature wrinkling, drying and the appearance of age spots. One product that can help you maintain a youthful and glowing skin is Rejuvinol. Know more about this anti-aging cream by visiting www.Rejuvinol.com.

Dress Appropriately For Your Body Type And Lifestyle

Plus size women celebrities like Oprah and Delta Burke have proven that regardless of size, you can still be beautiful. With just a few tricks, all women can look their best and be beautiful, even plus sized women.

In the past, plus size clothes were dowdy, oversize frocks designed to hide the larger woman's body. But plus size clothes have come a long way since then: modern designers have used a myriad of different styles, fabrics, and colors to create beautiful and flattering tops for plus size women of any size. An affordable, attractive top can transform and ordinary outfit into a showstopper. Quality tops are the perfect way to downplay problem areas and enhance your good features. Use these fashion guidelines to help you choose the correct top for your body type.

If you are a larger woman, remember to "think vertical" when shopping for clothes. What we mean by this is that you should not consider patterns on your clothes that flow in a horizontal fashion. Such designs tend to accentuate your negative features. Vertical stripes and modern snaps will make people look from head to toe, giving the illusion of slimness.

Because the goal is to find a top that enhances your shape, be sure that you choose the right size. The fashion top should hug your body, but not too tightly. If it's too tight, the top will cling to problem areas and may make you feel uncomfortable. Just because you're plus-size doesn't mean you have to hide your body, though, so don't buy a fashion top that's too baggy. If you choose a plus-size top that fights well, you'll be able to look both classy and chic while showing off your great curves at the same time.

Classic designs and clean cuts should be your favorites while selecting your plus size fashion tops. These help in defining your figure and enhance the curves. Love the colors around you! This fall brings you a beautiful variety of color in plus size fashion tops. Color adds brightness to your look and gives a beautiful glow. Choose colors and shades that compliment your skin tone and body type.

It's fine to show a little skin if you do it right. If you want people to notice your pretty face and shapely bosom, wear a top with a deep V-neck. But don't expose your midriff without having well-toned abs! Also stay away from plus sized tops with large prints, since those just make big women look even bigger. This is true of animal prints too, but there are ways you can still make use of them. They certainly lend a touch of elegance to outfits when used in accessories like scarves.

Selecting the right style, color and size will make you feel great all season long. Fashion tops in a plus size worn with suits, jackets, and slacks is a way to create many affordable mutliple looks. You can also pull a look together that is up-to-date with trendy shoes, handbags, and scarves. Simply adding a brooch or pin is another way to add a touch of glamour to your fashion tops and jackets.

Do I Have To Be A "Good Girl" or Can I Take Care Of Myself?

While we were growing up, little girls were taught to "be nice" or "be good" and often times, we interpreted that to mean that we must always place our own needs in a secondary position to the needs of those with whom we are in relationship. In chapter two of my book: "Pull Yourself Out of the Mud: Know and Love Who You Are and Get More Out of Life" coming out in May of 2008, I explore this concept in depth. Basically, the concept is this: as children we are taught what is right and wrong by our parents. Often times, but not always, the distinction between right and wrong depended upon the convenience, needs and personalities of our parents. One parent who has a rambunctious personality and doesn't mind noise will allow her children to play loudly and enthusiastically without being bothered by her children's activity levels. Another parent may be anxious and out of that sense of anxiety requires her children to remain unusually quiet. Whatever form the training took that training began when we were very young. As small as two years old, every child begins to assert her independence and sense of self with the words "no" and "Mine!" and "I do it!" But frequently, a two-year-old's requests for independence are met with course corrections that serve, over time, to teach her that she needs to hear the external voice of direction more acutely than her own wishes. Those lessons are not the same for little boys. They may be taught the same lessons initially, but by the time they are school-aged, boys are scrapping and wrestling with each other in order to figure out who wins or who gets to take the next turn. Little girls on the playground struggle in a more verbal way and thus are still told to be nice, to think about each other's feelings and to give in to what someone else wants in order that everyone can have an enjoyable time. But I've got some questions. At what age do we begin to learn that we need to ask for what we want? If someone says or does something we don't like, when is it okay to speak up? When is saying "no" appropriate? For many of us, those answers came during adolescence, when we rebelled against the powers that were and stood up for ourselves. Sometimes, however, those stands were taken in misdirected ways. Instead of questioning a parent and learning how to take care of her own needs, one teen-ager might have numbed her feelings of confusion and resentment with alcohol, drugs or sexual acting out. If your parents were the kind that encouraged a two-way discussion of the differences in perception between you as a teen and them as the household authorities, you are probably able to assert yourself in a reasonably healthy way. For many, however, this was not the case.

These questions remind me of an experience I had while I was still working as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. I was working for an agency that provided services to assist families touched by incest. During the training meetings that I and other intern staff attended, the director of the program continuously asked us to complete tasks and compromise personal boundaries in a way that did not feel right to me. Often, she asked us to place our own needs secondary to the needs of her agency. The simplest example would be a request she made that participants disclose personal information in a group setting in a way that did not feel safe. Or, she would impose limits and structures on her staff that did not allow for individuality.

Rather, it was stifling and induced fear in her staff members and trainees. In my typical outspoken style, every time she would make a demand that seemed to me to represent a violation of my personal boundaries or those of others participating in her program, I spoke up and questioned the process of what was happening in the meeting. Mind you, I did it in what I thought was a respectful way -- but the problem was that I was listening to and honoring my internal voice and found it in direct conflict with the things I saw and heard in this program. I thought I was participating in an adult discussion where ideas and policies could be evaluated and improved. I guess I was wrong! Shortly, the director of the clinic expelled me from the program. But, do you want to know the interesting part about that whole process? The day that she told the other interns of her decision to dismiss me, every other intern who worked for her quit. That day! They just walked out!

Why do you think that happened? Well, here's what they told me. That I had given them permission to filter what the director had been saying through their own process and they found that I was empowering them to recognize their own voices and needs as valid. When they saw that their own feelings of empowerment were being dismissed in the symbolism of ejecting me from the agency, they saw the need for solidarity and took action.

Interestingly, the director of the program called me a few months later and asked me to re-join her program. I politely declined. But here's the point of telling you that story. It just so happens that the director of that program and all of her interns -- except me -- had been victims of molest during childhood. One of the tragedies of experiencing molest during childhood is that it causes confusion about where the boundaries are. It makes it very difficult to say: "Hey, wait a minute! Something doesn't feel right here." That's because in the very first experiences of something not "feeling right" a person of power and authority was there saying that it was okay, even when it wasn't. In a less extreme example for women who were not molested, the parent who was most feared instilled the tendency to place that parent's preferences over the internal voice. So I was there modeling for them the process of listening to themselves. They all responded in an empowered way and took action. Yes, there were some negative consequences, but those negative consequences paled in comparison to the benefits they received by being personally empowered to be in charge of what they did and did not do.

I realize that using examples from the lives of adults molested as children may seem extreme. But I used that story here to illustrate a point.

Many of us live our lives forcing ourselves to quiet our inner voice simply because we assume that someone else has the authority to be "right" and that we, by virtue of being different, are "wrong." So it's time to get some things straight. Simply because our internal dialogue conflicts with what someone else is saying does not mean that somebody is wrong. Differences should bring discussion. Think about it. It's actually possible to create win-win situations. If it seems like you can't get beyond win-lose, keep talking! Here's what I know . . . . If I continue to silence my inner voice when it comes into conflict with others' needs and ideas, I'll end up giving my energy and power away for things I don't believe in. I'll end up spending myself to exhaustion in an effort to please someone else. But the reality is that it's impossible to please other people in just the right way that our needs will get met! We MUST be willing and able to KNOW and COMMUNICATE what we need effectively. If we don't figure out our own needs and communicate them, we build resentment that others do not sacrifice themselves the way we are sacrificing ourselves for them, we burn out, we get sick, we feel anxious and depressed.

So the first step in this process is to figure out what you believe. When you look at your anxieties related to not asserting yourself, are there "rules" there that were imposed during your childhood that really aren't valid to you? Do you have a "what will the neighbors think" mentality that keeps you stunted? Right now is the time to begin evaluating which of the rules you grew up obeying are actually valid and socially appropriate and which ones only serve to pepper your life with worry, anxiety or depression. When you find a rule that doesn't serve you or others around you, I'm giving you permission to get rid of it!!! It is a process that takes time and energy, but I promise that if you commit yourself to it, you will be very glad you did!
